The Universal Declaration of Human Rights

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was proclaimed by the United Nations on December 10 ^th, 1948 . It sets forth the basic social , economic , and freedom of every human being . Its preamble states that the Declaration is intended to serve as a common standard of archievement for all nations . It has thirty articles . Here are some of the most important .

1- All human being are born free and equal in dignity and rights .

2- Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in the declaration without distuiction of any kuid , such as race , colour , sex , language , religion political or other opinion , national or social origin , property , birth or other status .

3- Everyone has the right to life liberty and security of person .

4- No one shall be held inslavery or servitude .

5- No one shall be subjected to toture or to cruelty , inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment .

6- Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law .

7- No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest , detention or exile .
